The Jewar Airport to boost jobs and investment narrative gained momentum as Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu highlighted the transformative impact of the Noida International Airport at Jewar.
Speaking at the inauguration event, the minister said the airport would emerge as a major hub for employment, investment, and economic growth—not just for Uttar Pradesh, but for the entire country.
Developed at an estimated cost of ₹11,200 crore, the airport’s first phase features a nearly 4-km runway and world-class infrastructure designed for international operations.
Naidu emphasized that the project goes beyond aviation, envisioning a full-scale “aerotropolis” with integrated cargo, logistics, and industrial ecosystems.
This model is expected to create opportunities across sectors such as ground handling, maintenance, cargo, hospitality, and tourism.
The upcoming Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility and cargo infrastructure are set to further enhance employment prospects, especially for local youth.

According to the minister, the airport will reverse migration trends—bringing jobs to Jewar rather than forcing residents to move to cities like Delhi.

Experts say the airport will play a key role in decongesting Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and boost connectivity across northern India.
However, some concerns remain among local communities regarding employment delivery, even as the project nears completion.
